Camden Lock was treated to a wee taste of Edinburgh this week with the 2019 EdFest.com programme launch at Dingwall’s, hosted by The List. There were tandem events happening in both London and Edinburgh, featuring beer from Truman’s, whisky cocktails from Johnnie Walker, delicious snacks from Soderberg as well as offering a taste of several acts performing at this years festival in August.

The evening kicked off with introductions from Pleasance director Anthony Anderson and Gilded Ballon directors Karen and Katy Koren before MC Marlon Davis took the stage, offering snippets of his excellently titled fringe show Emotional Black Male. This was followed by drag and cabaret performances from the fabulous Ginger Johnson and Sex Shells. The evening was rounded out by a triumvirate of terrific female comic acts starting with musical sisters Flo and Joan, treating the audience to an acapella version of their popular youtube hit Lady in the Woods. They were followed Sarah Barron and Maisie Adam, offering up previews from their respective Edinburgh shows Enemies Closer and Hang Fire.

This year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival takes place between July 31st and the full programme is available at edfest.com and through the mobile app.
