Sometimes you’re just ‘that sort of bear.’
I laughed, I cried and my heart melted with nostalgia and love for every family’s favourite bear!
In this second instalment, we witness our favourite Paddington undertaking a number of questionable jobs from a barber’s assistant to a window cleaner, in order for him to afford a unique pop-up book from an antique book shop as a present for his Aunt Lucy on her 100th birthday. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to find the culprit with tragic yet hilarious consequences.
The talented cast lift this clever script, while the cinematography gives a very nostalgic journey through London that every child will engage with. The first Paddington film was a heart-warming family feature, and it’s very rare for a sequel to precede that, but… and I dare to say it – Paddington 2 beats it hands down.
I and the audience (including many a happy child) were completely taken in by this little bear’s journey with the most vibrant yet utterly comical performance Hugh Grant has ever given.
You don’t switch off, you just join in wanting all the best for Britain’s favourite bear.
Take your friends, take your children, take your gran – you won’t be disappointed!
