Ridley Scott’s adaptation of Andy Weir’s novel The Martian centres on astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) who is stranded on Mars and must use his wits along with the power of science to find a way to survive on the hostile planet. Back on Earth, NASA and a team of international scientists work to bring him home, while his crew mates also hatch their own plan to rescue him.
The film’s stars including Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Sean Bean, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jeff Daniels and Kate Mara joined director Ridley Scott on the red carpet for the European premiere in London’s Leicester Square.
