Pamela Shaw
by Joanna Orland
Actress Pamela Shaw is having a lucky streak as she brings Rita LaPorta, the character she originated in the Off Broadway production of Lucky Stiff, from stage to screen. Lucky Stiff, which was a hit at this year’s Raindance Film Festival, is the story of lowly shoe salesman Harry Witherspoon (Dominic Marsh) who finds out he’s inherited six million dollars from his deceased American uncle. The inheritance is dependent on the condition that Harry must take Uncle Tony’s corpse on a trip to Monte Carlo. Pamela plays Rita, the former lover / murderer of Tony who drags her brother Vinnie (Jason Alexander) into her twisted plot in order to retrieve the diamonds from Tony who she now believes to be alive.
Pamela gives a hilarious and over the top performance as diva Rita LaPorta. She’s kindly taken the time to speak with us about her portrayal of Rita on both the stage and the screen.
