Fatalistically Fabulous
Illusion & Vaudeville Cabaret

by Laura Patricia Jones

Soho’s infamous Madame Jo Jo’s is renowned for its debaucherous cabaret and dazzling drag acts. But what does their latest offering from Bizu Fatale have to bring?

Bizu Fatale is a good night out – a dazzling feat of familiar show stoppers and backstreet glamour. As a former musical theatre hag myself, I found myself toe tapping and Jazz handing along to classic numbers that all character shoe wearing performers over the age of fourteen have shimmied to with their eyes closed.

The show is enjoyable and entertaining and I would recommend it for a party as the hens behind us were certainly having a good time. But as far as this style of cabaret is concerned, it lacks grit. There are definitely some notable moments and I enjoyed the variety. Host Allie Ho Chee is every inch a striking Liza, but doesn’t translate quite as well when she becomes Marilyn. The strip act is a classy affair but using the same stripper twice is slightly tedious as without being crude, we’ve seen it all before. However, if you’re looking for fun and don’t mind seeing the same tits twice, you will certainly find it here.

To add a splash of Soho glamour to your Thursday night, head to Madame Jo Jo’s for Bizu Fatale!

And watch out for the gorgeous drag Queen on the door – she’s fierce!

Bizu Fatale opens from June 5th at Madame JoJo’s
