Virgin Records: 40 Years of Disruptions
by Amanda Farley
As Virgin Records celebrates its 40th birthday, the iconic music label is marking the occasion in style with the launch of a new exhibition, 40 Years of Disruptions.
This event celebrates the label’s place as a cultural and musical ‘disrupter’ which has been home to mavericks, misfits, rebels, geniuses and nonconformists.
In keeping with Virgin Record’s history of disruption, this event promises the audience something more than a traditional exhibition. The event will feature a mash up of ground-breaking Virgin Records videos, photographs from the Virgin archives, as well as clothes, album covers, art installations and more from the label’s most influential acts including The Sex Pistols, The Spice Girls, Boy George and Massive Attack.
Virgin records will also be launching an art book and compilation CD as part of their birthday celebration plans.
40 Years of Disruptions opens in London’s Victoria House and runs from October 24th-29th. Admission is free further details can be found here: virgin40.com
