New Kids on the Block kicked off their reunion tour and girl, I was there for the DEBUT gig!!! I’ll be honest, my expectations weren’t all that high — but the boys came out and tore the place up! Not having updated their dance moves since the early 90’s, they were spot-on retro fun!
Jordan may not be my preteen crush anymore, but he can still hit those falsetto notes. Joey is still the baby-faced wunderkid, Jonathan is still the shy one, Danny did a break dance which made him slightly less useless than I remember him to be, and Donnie was a mofo loud obnoxious c*nt! LOVED IT!
Jonathan was always my favourite growing up, followed closely by Jordan. I’m now a Joey convert, but Jonny boy still has a special place in my heart.
Ladies and Gentlemen… The Knight Brothers.
Words cannot describe the awesomeness of this gig and the fact that they’ve reunited. It best be done with my Top 17 NKOTB Dance Moves in photo form:
Someone thinks he’s Patrick Swayze!!
Impromptu game of Footsie Paddy Cake anyone?
Yes, this is the Robot. No, this is not ironic.
C’mon.. just a little bit more.. you can do it!
Oh, I’m getting tired just watching this — time for a sit down.
Somebody call a paramedic!
Nobody told Jordan the new plan to sing TO the audience!
Step by Step girl… Literally.
Step 4, they will give you more.
…and STEP
Blinded by the light, girl.
Raise your hand if you’re SURE!
Don’t break a hip, girl.
Donnie let one rip.
This is where they broke into a cover of Hava Nagila.
They forgot to rehearse this one!
Cause I can thrill you more than any ghost would dare to try.
And now for a dedicated photo gallery…. because they totally do got the Right Stuff baby:
