The Coen Brothers’ new film Hail, Caesar! will open the 66th Berlinale film festival on February 11th, 2016.

Hail, Caesar! takes place during the latter years of Hollywood’s Golden Age, during the studio system’s heyday, and features an all-star cast including Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Alden Ehrenreich, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Scarlett Johansson, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Channing Tatum. The comedy follows a single day in the life of a studio fixer who is presented with plenty of problems to fix.

In addition to the news of the opening film, Berlinale has also announced that Meryl Streep has been appointed this year’s Jury President.  The Academy Award winning actress will take on the role of a juror at a film festival for the first time in her longstanding career.

The 66th Berlinale takes place February 11-21, 2016.
