I ♥ Metronomy. Their music is so unique and intricate you can’t help but have the utmost respect for what they are doing. With their latest album The English Riviera, which came out last year, they are finally getting the recognition that they deserve.
The crowd was a mixed one. The adults were there for Metronomy, the kids for Two Door Cinema Club. I was actually surprised that Two Door Cinema Club were headlining the night over Metronomy, until I saw their set. Dayam – Two Door Cinema Club are AWESOME! As much as I love Metronomy and enjoyed their gig, it was definitely Two Door Cinema Club’s night! TDCC had a fantastic light show, great tunes and such a high end technical skill, you’d think they’d been playing stadium tours for years. A great way to fill the Brixton Academy with lush sounds.
Even though the night did indeed belong to TDCC, Metronomy certainly held their own with another fantastic set, mostly consisting of songs from the English Riviera, and also their closer of Holiday from their previous album Nights Out. They are just so likable! All in all, a great night out!
